An organizational factor which strongly enhances the ability of the department to put its knowledge into practice is the existence of the ConTech Center. Formally an overlaid organizational structure within the department, this is in fact a (control) technology transfer center, aimed primarily at keeping close contacts with existing and potential industrial partners and satisfying their needs in consulting, education and other practice-oriented engineering services.
On the other side, in the frame of the so-called "technology vertical" , the department closely cooperates with the company INEA and two laboratories at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering , University of Ljubljana ( Laboratory for Modelling, Simulation and Control and Laboratory for Industrial Process Control ).
