The Department of Computer Automation and Control is an autonomous organizational unit within the framework of different R&D departments of the J.Stefan Institute.
The present department draws from the professional tradition of the former Department of Electronics which initially developed complex equipment for nuclear and non-nuclear physics research.
The basis for the current areas of activity was established at the beginning of the Eighties within the group of control engineers at the former Department of Automation and Biocybernetics. The the Department of Computer Automation and Control was formally founded in 1986.
