Activities
Fault detection

Objectives
The applied research in the field of process diagnosis is
oriented towards integration of qualitative and quantitative
model-based approaches, application of control and AI techniques,
development of tools for computer-aided design and transfer of
R&D results into industrial practice.
Current research & developments & other activities
- research and development of the diagnostic methods based
on fault propagation models
- study of the consistency-based approaches which make use
of the process functional and structural decomposition
- application of approximate reasoning techniques to fault
isolation
- study and development of algorithms for diagnosis of the
control loops
- development of toolboxes for prototyping design of the
diagnostic systems (Matlab and G2)
- setting up the laboratory and industrial benchmark
problems
- applied solutions for plant-wide diagnosis in chemical
and process industries through integration of FDI modules
with SCADA systems
