Hotel Spik, Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, September 17-19, 1997
Notes on the Preliminary Scientific Programme
The Scientific Programme of the Symposium is scheduled to be performed completely on Wednesday September 17 and on Thursday September 18, 1997, in order to give some participants more flexibility in planning their long distance flights on departure.
Regular papers will be given in three parallel strands, each having three sessions of 105 minutes duration:
Strand I. |
Human - Machine Interaction (HMI) |
Strand II |
Bussines Processes |
Strand III. |
Industrial Development |
The presentation of regular papers may take about 10 or 15 minutes, depending on the number of papers to be presented in each session (5 or 6). After each presentation, about five minutes are reserved for discussion.
The so - called Discussion Groups are intended to be less formal than the normal (regular) paper sessions - more open to exchange of ideas among the participants invited. They are expected to be based on a very short, individual five-minutes statements rather than full paper presentations. The papers contributed for these Discussion Groups, however are printed in the Symposium preprints like all other papers and it is recommended to read them before the meeting.
The special Demonstration Sessions are planned to be run in parallel to Discussion Groups. In these Demonstration Sessions, the following types of presentations will take place:
- presentation of some submitted papers (indicated in the table on the previous page), preferably by means of posters
- some companies and institutions will present either their software tools or successful projects related to the scope of the Symposium
- discussion of additional interesting aspects from various presented papers
The participants are invited to take these opportunities possibly in a more informal atmosphere, in order to enable free flow of creative ideas and making fruitful contacts between mutually interested people.
Exhibition of Software Tools
The Organising Committee will arrange an exhibition of software tools supporting human skills in enterprise management and production control. The exhibition will be open on Tuesday, September 16, Wednesday, September 17 and Thursday, September 18, 1997.
Technical facilities for presentations
In each of the meeting rooms the following facilities will be available for presentation of papers: an overhead projector and a standard (50 x 50 mm frames) slide projector. In the plenary hall a video playing unit will also be available. If any of the presenters has special wishes in addition to the mentioned facilities, please contact the Symposium Secretariat (Albatros Congress Tourist Agency) until the end of August 1997 at the latest.
Related Events
All who plan to come to the Symposium are kindly invited to combine their participation at the Symposium with attending to the following two closely related events:
